DSCN1901As I dream about a lingering day at the beach with the tide trying to catch my toes, I thought I would take a break from my running posts.

My husband and I celebrated our 13th anniversary yesterday and I wanted to share some of the places, spaces and things that we’ve enjoyed a long the way. 13 to be exact. I know, how clever.

First up, Sanibel and Captiva Island, FL. We love it here, this is where we got married. Cue the dolphins, and really, we had dolphins swim by the shoreline during our ceremony…and no one paid them to do it, just a blessing from from the sea.

Being an Island girl myself it always feels like home to me to have sand between my toe’s. It’s a great place to hang out and the beaches are wonderful. I can even smell the salty air and sunscreen as I type this. If you’ve never been, I hope you get there…it’s a great little spot to unwind.

13 things we like about Sanibel and Captiva

There’s more than 13 things about Sanibel that we love and we hope you can find out for yourself, until then, may warm and sunny days come your way soon!

“It’s elevating and humbling at the same time.  Running along a beach at sunrise with no other footprints in the sand, you realize the vastness of creation, your own insignificant space in the plan, how tiny you really are, your own creatureliness and how much you owe to the supreme body, the God that brought all this beauty and harmony into being.”
